Step Into Spring

Four audience pleasing movies - all worth checking out in this edition of DVD Recommendations.
The Reader - From The Weinstein Company.  The Academy got it right and Kate deserved it for this one, not this one.  See why.

Doubt – From Miramax.  Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman face off as Amy Adams watches on the sidelines in this award
winning film adaptation of John Patrick Shanley's award winning play.
Everybody get out of Streep's way.  See why.

Mulligans – From Wolfe Video.  Nice little gay indie drama written by and starring openly gay hottie pants Charlie David.

The Day the Earth Stood Still – From 20th Century Fox.  No, of course, it isn't nearly as good as the original starring Michael
Rennie and
Patricia Neal but the first half is pretty darn good, the second half entertaining enough to squeak by, Keanu makes for a
good alien, Kathy Bates is terrific (as usual) and there are some great special effects.  The film's biggest deficit is the annoying kid
played by Jaden Smith - he's practically an argument for corporal punishment.
