RomComs for Everyone!

Four VERY different types of romantic comedies in this edition of DVD Recommendations.
Cheri - From Miramax.  Michelle Pfeiffer, Rupert Friend and Kathy Bates star in Stephen Frears' lovely, lavish, long awaited
adaptation of the Colette novel - a May/December romance (okay, make that May/October) between a courtesan and a spoiled boy
toy.  The Merchant/Ivory types (myself included) will applaud this delicious comedy of manners.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past – From Warner Bros.  Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner and a nice twist on "A Christmas Carol,"
and some nice supporting work from Breckin Meyer, Michael Douglas, et al to put this in the plus column as I noted
HERE.

Observe and Report – From Warner Bros.  Seth Rogan and Ana Faris are the "romantic" leads in Jody Hill's mouth droppingly
crude and
very funny white trash comedy.  Enjoy at your own risk - a definite guilty pleasure!

The Proposal – From Touchstone.  The Sandra Bullock that you know and love (spunky girl next door type), plenty of shirtless
Ryan Reynolds, and lots of sassy, salty little ole Betty White.  Predictable as hell but predictability in this case is a good thing as I
originally noted.
